How to Win Friends & Influence People
Summary
  • This book is for sure in my book list of: Top 10 favorite books of all time. This book is more so about the psychology of people and I implore everyone to read it. A lot of times we get mad, we’re not forgiving, and we’re easily irritable without ever considering the other party; and this book helps us understand grace! It helps us understand what people like to hear, how you should actually treat people, and how to respond in negative situations.

  • You’re in a fight with your spouse? Why continue arguing when you can try and be sweet and see their point of view? Somebody doesn’t do what you asked them to do? Why not look at it from their point of view and understand why? I remember a story in this book about Abraham Lincoln sending his partner out to the battlefield to capture the leader of the enemies. His partner had the enemy dead to right and could’ve easily killed/captured him, but he let him go. Abraham Lincoln was so FURIOUS that he wrote a letter that described how angry he was and essentially how “stupid,” his partner was. But he also realized… he was writing from the comfort of his own home whereas his partner had to hear screaming from those dying, blood everywhere, and not knowing if he’d make it back home or not. From that story alone, you can see how easy it is to criticize and judge others in your own mind, but this book helps you to always at least TRY and understand both sides.

  • If you’re someone who brags about having no friends and always likes to argue, please read this book. In my opinion, this can drastically enhance your life!
